CycleStreets has a variety of link formats that enable you to add links on your website that pre-fill the start and/or finish points. This makes it even more likely people will plan a cycle journey.
Here are the available formats:
Either use a postcode or latitude, longitude:
Journey to postcode: | https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/to/SW1A+2AA/ |
Journey to lat,lon: | https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/to/51.503,-0.128/ |
Journey to lat, lon, setting zoom: |
https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/to/51.503,-0.128,16/ |
Journey to train station (using station code) |
https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/to/cbg/ |
Journey to grid references: | Coming soon … |
You can also add an optional label:
In all cases, if you have a space in the postcode or label, change this to a + sign.

Probably not of much use, as you could just plan a journey and link to it instead.
However, this might be useful when many people are coming from similar areas and might want to adjust a preset start point.
Set both points, using postcode: | https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/SW1A+2AA/WC1N+3LP/ |
Set both points, using lat,lon points: | https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/51.503,-0.128/51.523,-0.119/ |
Journey between train stations (using station code) |
https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/kgx/wat/ |
In all cases, if you have a space in the postcode or label, change this to a + sign.
Just plan a journey and you'll get a permanent journey number and URL that you can link to, e.g.
https://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/500000/
Journeys are kept on the system, and the route is kept constant. (You can replan the journey at any time, which will then reflect any improvements to the cycling data we use.)
Change www in any URL to a location such as cambridge, kingston, london, edinburgh, or whatever, and the whole site will be specific to that area.
This then encourages people to plan other journeys in the area more easily.
